For this self-directed project, I was tasked with designing a book cover based on the following 5 random words:
Spectrum Yellow | Hermann Hesse | Kolkata | Excitement | 205
I began by researching each word to draw out connections and visual interpretations. Each word is represented:
- Spectrum Yellow background with an asteroid texture (205 Martha)
- Hermann Hesse photo portrait
- Paint splashes to represent excitement and the Holi festival of colour which is celebrated in Kolkata
